    February 20th, 2012

I have bougth this soundcard for it's ability to
     - Sync-up with external SPDIF / WCLK (Fs) / MCLK (128*Fs) up to (including) 192kHz
     - Output SPDIF / WCLK (Fs) / MCLK (128*Fs) up to (including) 192kHz

I needed it for my PCM4222EVM ADC to get high-pefformance 192kHz measurement rig. None of souncards i've got had ability to go all the way to 192kHz sampling rate via S/PDIF.

This one of the best products i've ever bought, i loved every bit of it but it's "ISD" cable, which uses classic HDMI port for Infrasonic's needs: MIDI/SPDIF/WCLK I/Os. It is short, you can't bend it and if you bedn it, it may break.

So, i'll make another one myself - with longish coaxial cables and required connectors - thankfully Infrasonic have used standatd HDMI connectors.

As a side note - you can use HDMI cable extender to extend the ISD link, as Infrasonic designed the pinout of their cable with HDMI cables and standard in mind - all the SPDIF/WCLK signals use twisted pairs in the HDMI cable.

So, i have "reverse-engineered" the pinout for your (and mine) convenience:

Pin # Digital MIDI HDMI use
    1 S/PDIF OUT   TMDS Data2+
2   MIDI IN Current Source TMDS Data2 Shield
    3 S/PDIF OUT GND   TMDS Data2–
4 S/PDIF IN MIDI IN Current Sink TMDS Data1+
    5     TMDS Data1 Shield
    6 S/PDIF IN GND   TMDS Data1–
    7 WCLK IN   TMDS Data0+
8   MIDI OUT Current Sink TMDS Data0 Shield
9 WCLK IN GND   TMDS Data0–
10 WCLK OUT MIDI OUT Current Source TMDS Clock+
    11     TMDS Clock Shield
12 WCLK OUT GND   TMDS Clock–
    13     CEC
14     Reserved (HDMI 1.0–1.3c), HEC Data-
15     SCL (I²C Serial Clock for DDC)
16     SDA (I²C Serial Data Line for DDC)
    17     DDC/CEC/HEC Ground
    18     +5 V Power (max 50 mA)
19     Hot Plug Detect (All versions) and HEC Data+
    Shield   Shield
